The Simple Sample

The Problem:
Due to the pandemic shoppers have opted out of sampling cosmetics.

The Insight:
Sampling is a key factor for consumers when purchasing cosmetics.

The Solution:
Develop individual sample tools that are sanitary and effective.

Introducing Colour Cards

Instead of applying the samples directly to the skin, consumers will have the choice of Colour Cards. The human skin comes in a vast variety of shades. When consumers find their shade they can keep the card in the wallet. Applying the cosmetics to the card will give an accurate depiction of how the make will look on the skin.

The Simple Sample

A loadable lipstick sampler. Lipstick samples will be loaded from the bottom allowing customers to individually try on lipstick in a sanitary way. The small sample sizes will not hurt stores inventory.

Background: This was one of my most challenging and satisfying projects, because I had little to no knowledge on cosmetics. The Simple Sample showed me how important is it to do research to find pain points and create solutions.
